Silica Gel Packs / Desiccant Bags

desiccant bags
Each silica gel packet is 1 1/16" x 2 1/16" and contains three grams of silica gel desiccant.

Silica Gel Desiccant

Our waterproof cases are guaranteed to be 100% waterproof if sealed correctly. However, in humid environments the air sealed in your case will contain a small amount of moisture. If your case undergoes a temperature change that moisture can condense on the inside of the case and its contents. The result can be moisture on camera lenses or on important electronic items.

We highly recommend placing a silica gel packet in the case to absorb this moisture. You bought a waterproof case to protect your equipment. Silica gel desiccant will be sure that it stays completely dry.

Silica Gel Desiccant Facts

What Is Desiccant?
A desiccant is a substance that removes moisture from the surrounding air. When sealed in an air-tight container, such as a waterproof case, a desiccant will produce a low humidity environment within the case.

What Is Silica Gel?
Silica gel is a granular form of silica that has the ability to absorb moisture. It is the most commonly used desiccant for protecting manufactured products. It is usually packaged in small permeable packets for convenient use as a desiccant.

How to Use Silica Gel Packets?
Place your electronic item into a waterproof case and insert the silica pack. Seal the case immediately. The silica gel will remove moisture from air within the case.

How to Store Silica Gel Desiccant Packs?
Unused desiccant packs should be stored in an air-tight container. To preserve their effectiveness they should be kept in the case until immediately before use.

How Many Desiccant Packs Should I Use?
One packet is usually adequate.

How Long Do the Desiccant Packets Last?
For best results replace the desiccant packets often or if they are exposed to air for an extended time. Between uses seal the empty case with your desiccant packet inside. That will preserve the desiccant for future use.
